An article was recently released by Alex Hanes, an analysis at the intersection of economic history and technological futurism, that released the rankings for the most beer-friendly states in the U.S. The list was compiled based off of data collected by Bloomberg, the Tax Foundation and Wisconsin Capital Times.

1. Montana
The annual beer consumption per capita in gallons in Montana is 41. The number of breweries per 100,000 people is 4.63. The number of bars per 100,000 people is 59.30. The beer excise tax per gallon is only $0.14.
2. Wisconsin
The annual beer consumption per capita in gallons for Wisconsin is 36.2. The number of breweries per 100,000 people is 2.56. The number of bars per 100,000 people is 52.99. The beer excise tax per gallon is only $0.06.
3. Wyoming
The annual beer consumption per capita in gallons for Wyoming is 33. The number of breweries per 100,000 people is 4.29, and the number of bars per 100,000 people is 29.52. The beer excise tax per gallon is only $0.02.
4. Oregon
The annual beer consumption per capita in gallons in Oregon is 30.3. The number of breweries per 100,000 people is 5.29. The number of bars per 100,000 people is 21.07. The beer excise tax per gallon is only $0.08.
5. Vermont
The annual beer consumption per capita in gallons in Vermont is 35.3. The number of breweries per 100,000 people is 6.38. The number of bars per 100,000 people is 15.80. The beer excise tax per gallon is $0.27.
