Breast Cancer Network of Strength will be holding its 3rd annual Walk to Empower on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2009 at Tempe Beach Park. The money raised through the Walk to Empower will benefit Breast Cancer Network of Strength’s free-of-charge programs and services, the largest a 24-hour hotline staffed by breast cancer survivors.

Breast Cancer Network of Strength uniquely provides immediate emotional relief and peer support through YourShoes™, the country’s only 24/7 breast cancer support center staffed by trained breast cancer survivors. These peer counselors are experienced in handling all types of questions related to breast cancer, and can talk with individuals about their feelings and concerns because they know first-hand what it is like to walk in the shoes of someone who is facing the disease. The peer counselors help people touched by breast cancer feel the support and strength they need. Breast cancer support through YourShoes™ is interpreted in 150 languages and available via e-mail.
