Is it hot enough for you yet? It’s sure to be plenty hot in June with the Stanley Cup Championship Series just behind us (go Yotes!) but we want to see more hockey! So this time, it is the members of the Scottsdale Police Department’s “Badges” that will be on the ice protecting their own “Blue Line.” POSA’s 1st Annual “Blades for Badges” Charity Hockey game is almost HERE! POSA is playing to help raise money for the 907 Fund.
The 907 Fund (also known as the Officer Needs Assistance Fund) was created in 2007 to help both sworn and civilian law enforcement personnel with typically financial assistance towards medical treatment and has helped over 50 families since its inception. The 907 Fund is named for the police radio code “907,” meaning an officer is calling for emergency assistance.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Scottsdale Ice Den on Saturday, June 16th at 4pm, the hockey puck will drop again. POSA hopes that you, along with your family and friends will come out to support the Boys in Blue.
Join in the festivities at the Den before, during and after the game. There will be silent auction items, a 50/50 raffle and other great prizes to be awarded. POSA K-9 will also be on hand to entertain the audience. After the game, partake in the great food at the 18-Degrees Bar and Grill or take in the Ice Den’s Family Skate that follows immediately after the game with all proceeds going to the 907 Fund.
There are many volunteers needed to make this event successful, so if you are interested in volunteering please email Cindy Hill at
