Singleton Moms’ Lean on Me 5K to Support Single Parents Battling Cancer
The 6th annual fundraiser and 5k walk is scheduled for March 17
Singleton Moms, an Arizona-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting single parents battling cancer, will host its 6th annual Lean on Me 5k Walk Sunday, March 17 from 7 to 9 a.m. at the SRP PERA Club in Tempe, located at 1 E. Continental Dr.
The Lean on Me 5k Walk, which is open to the public and is family and pet-friendly, was created to raise funds to support the organization’s mission of providing single parents undergoing treatment for cancer and their children with financial, emotional and domestic support. Now in its sixth year, the St. Patrick’s Day themed-event will include a walk through the scenic Papago Salado Region, music, light refreshments and prizes. The pre-registration fee is $25 per person, and $35 the day of the walk. Children under 13 years old are free, but still require registration. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome.
Walkers may register individually or form a team with friends, family or co-workers. Volunteers are also welcome.
