The Contest

This year, AFM collected photo submissions for our Designer Of The Year Contest- photos from designers that show the entire scope of spaces they designed. We received tons of entries with information on what inspired them, what restrictions they had and how their designs came to fruition.

AFM has put their chosen entries, designer names and details on the Web for voting from May 5, 2010 at 05:01:01 P.M. through June 30, 2010 at 4:59:59 P.M. Voters will only have the ability to vote for, not against, each entry, and can vote as often as they like. Comments on photos will be disabled for the Designer Of The Year Contest to keep the contest friendly.

While many designers submitted several photos from one home or property, others submitted photos for individual rooms. We split our entries into seven categories- one for each specific space- so we can compare designers apples to apples.

The designer in each category with the most votes at the end of the contest (June 30, 2010 at 4:59:59 P.M.) will be the Designer of the Year finalists, and all winning spaces will be mentioned in the September Best Places to Live issue of Arizona Foothills. AFM Editors will choose their favorite from those winners to serve and be featured as the 2010 Designer of the Year.

Additional Rules and Regulations

The seven finalists will be interviewed for the September Best Places to Live Issue and mentioned in an article. The Designer of the Year will be featured in the September issue as the “Designer Of The Year”, will receive 50 copies of the September issue and a Web feature on AZFoothills.com.

AFM’s Editors will also have their picks, unrelated to the voting, from “best accessories”, to “best use of color” and beyond, so even designers who did not win their categories may find themselves on our pages.

Each of the seven finalists will be featured one time, though size of mention and specific content are never guaranteed. The photos submitted for the Web contest will be the photos used in the issue. AFM is given permission to use the supplied photos and has photo rights to run in the September issue with no cost to AFM. This associated editorial is non-transferrable and not redeemable for cash.

If entries submitted are not sufficient, AFM reserves the right to change the Designer Of The Year Contest. AFM reserves the right to choose which entries will be used in our Web contest, and what specifically is featured in Arizona Foothills Magazine. No size or word count is guaranteed. Entries must not be from previous AZFoothills.com showhouses.
