We are days away from the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open.  North Scottsdale has quickly transformed into a mecca for all things PGA related.  Whether you’re a golf enthusiast or simply a lover of excitement, you will find your niche through the next few days. After all, even experts describe the Scottsdale tournament as “the biggest golf party of the year.”

Not only does this event capture the attention of locals, but this is an international sports tournament with fans from all over the world. If you’ve been to the Open in past years, you might recall the bustling and sometimes chaotic crowd at TPC Scottsdale.  Sometimes it can be frustrating looking for a place to sit – unless you have ample funds to spend on VIP tickets.

This year we’ve taken notice to a new concept that’s being introduced.  If you attend the Open, you’ll be sure to notice too.  The Rattlers Den, a 100-foot by 50-foot area created to replicate an arena football field, is expected to be a hub of excitement at the Phoenix Open.  Brought to you by our local arena football team, the Arizona Rattlers, this will be a place for singles and families and everyone in between to come together and celebrate.

The Rattlers Den will be located behind the first tee box, which means VIP-like access to all the PGA players walking to the tee. Want an autograph?  Maybe an action shot?  This is the perfect spot for you.

The Rattlers Den offers a lounge-like feel, equipped with tables, seats and comfy couches.  They also have concession stands in the Den, serving great eats, non-alcoholic options, beer, wine and some very special signature cocktails! Even better, bathroom accommodations are conveniently located feet away.  (I think this sounds too good to be true!)

We love that the Rattlers realize some people attend the Open for entertainment rather than golf!  You can expect to see the famous Sidewinders, aka Rattler Cheerleaders, performing live for all, big-screens throughout the Den showcasing Rattler season highlights as well as Rattler players, Head Coach Kevin Guy and Rattler’s majority owner, Ron Shurts, on-hand to chat, give autographs and take pictures.

The Arizona Rattlers have become a community favorite, so it was important to the organization to be involved in this outrageous sporting event.  Showing their commitment to the Valley, they wanted to provide a fun atmosphere for all.  “We invite Rattlers fans and non-fans alike” says Ron Shurts. He continues on “It’s great that the community can come together and have fun.  We have put a great deal of effort into the Rattler’s Den and are very excited to present it to the community.”

The Rattlers are offering free admission to the Rattler’s Den. From open to close, to all guests of the Phoenix Open, admission is 100% free.   As I mentioned above, doesn’t this sound too good to be true?

I will definitely be on-hand at the Phoenix Open.  Like I said, this is the “the biggest golf party of the year.” Feel free to pull me aside and let me know how much you love the Rattler’s Den.
