During our recent cooler days I was yearning for an outdoor dining experience. The Spanish themed patio at Iruna was first choice for their perfect infusion of comfort that transforms guests into another world, far away from our Scottsdale border.
To my surprise, the highlight of my evening was other than the exceptional patio, it was my introduction to their unique sangria.
For this cocktail specialty they infuse brandy with pears, apples and citrus for several days then add the mixture to their sangria concoction. To my surprise it was bursting with flavor and perfectly subtle hints of spices. This was the first sangria that I liked…actually loved. Red and white sangrias can be found on the menu.
More About Iruna
Iruna is a modern interpretation of an old-world Spanish café. The alluring ambiance of this tapas lounge creates an intimate yet exciting feel. Conveniently located in the heart of Scottsdale, directly off Scottsdale and 1st, makes this hot-spot a great place to be seen.
Light menu options and an array of cocktail specialties make this tapas lounge a perfect choice for many needs; happy hour, pre-nightlife dinner spot, late-night fair followed by drinks. Once you visit this restaurant / bar / lounge /patio for the first time, you will soon be drawn back.
Tasty dishes for all, I dined on Brussel Sprouts with Thyme (truly delicious) and Patatas Bravas while my husband enjoyed the Artichokes and Clams in white wine and Lamb with mustard and mint. Cocktails at Iruna include Spanish wine, sangria, traditionally-inspired concoctions and a full bar for whatever you may desire.
