With heavy anticipation from wine lovers throughout the Valley, loyal patrons of the original and many Gilbert-town locals, Upward Projects will  open the doors a few days early for a “first look” of the new Postino East. The sister project of Arizona’s original wine café will host the initial glimpse, themed Bikes and Bruschetta, on Saturday, March 17^th  from 2-5pm. Open to the public, guests are encouraged to hop on their beach cruisers and pedal over to Postino East. The event will benefit Gilbert Public School’s partnership with Arizona Brainfood, a partnership that discreetly provides a backpack of food to feed hungry school children on the weekends.  For a nominal donation towards this worthy cause ($25/adults, $10/kiddos at the door or online), Gilbert residents and those that make the trek out East will be treated to a benevolent afternoon of wine, bruschetta, live music and neighborhood family fun.

This special Gilbert gathering will also offer friends, neighbors, wine enthusiasts and do-gooders a chance to experience the historically-relevant 2,500 square foot  space that has been transformed by Upward Projects using a little urban planning expertise.  Incorporating iconic design elements from the original Arcadia Post Office location that opened 11 years ago, the contemporary space will offer the most versatile layout yet, including an indoor-outdoor bar, wrap-around patio and green space for community events.

“Postino East is an urban space in a suburban place, so we designed it to provide a sense of community,” says Managing Partner Tory DeMarce.  “Gilbert Public Schools has been doing the very same thing for a long time, and is ultimately the foundation for community in the East Valley.  We want to do all we can to support their efforts and join their positive movement.”

Starting on Monday, March 19^th, the date of their official Grand Opening, expect thirty-six unique, approachable wines; simple, delicious food prepared with local ingredients such as bruschetta, paninis, salads and soups; and a warm, friendly culture that brings people together.  Exactly what the East Valley needed!
