World of Beer Coming to Tempe

What in the Wide World of Beer is going on in Tempe at the corner of Mill Avenue and Sixth Street in Tempe? Beer lovers will be barreling with laughs — the popular World of Beer franchise has set it sights on Mill Avenue with a projected Grand Opening in early July.
Construction crews have started Refurbishing the 1912 building that will soon serve 50 beers on tap from more than 40 different countries, not to mention the more than 500 beers available in the bottle.
“If you like craft beer, unique and specialty beers on tap, any beer you could possibly think up, we serve,” says Jessica Evans, Investor in World of Beer, Tempe. “And not only can you enjoy it right here in this cool space on Mill Avenue, but at World of Beer we also offer Beer-to-Go. You can mix-and-match a six pack of your favorite pre-packaged beer and take it home with you.”
Evans says World of Beer will also be looking for more than 30 new employees to work at the new Tempe location. Wildly popular across the east coast, the Tempe, AZ location is the first World of Beer to open on the west coast. The bar is also working with local breweries to add Valley favorites to the tap and offer special events on site. If you’re unsure of what to order, the beer aficionados behind the bar can offer up the perfect brew for you and even give you a sample.
Tempe World of Beer Owner Jessica Evans is the daughter of Matt McMahon, who lives in the Valley and owned the Arizona and New Mexico Outback Steakhouse franchise. McMahon opened his first Tempe location in 1993 and grew the company to 25 restaurants. Evans says her family plans to open at least 6 locations in Arizona over the next 2 years.
World of Beer started in Tampa in 2007 by two friends who shared a love of beer. The franchise has since expanded to more than 30 locations across the country.
The first World of Beer location in Arizona will be located at 526 Mill Ave. in Tempe, Arizona 85281.
