Feature Partner of the Week: Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue
Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue (VSGSR) has a mission to rescue Giant Schnauzers in need, provide medical care when necessary, and find foster care placements where these dogs can begin the process of finding a forever home. Ultimately, VSGSR hopes to find permanent homes that are best suited to each dog where they may live out their lives in a happy, healthy and loving environment. VSGSR a knowledgeable and experienced group interested in the well being of Giant Schnauzers.

Often highly driven and self-motivated, Giant Schnauzers are also energetic, intelligent, and challenging. A dog with this much personality may be difficult to live with if not given exercise, socialization, and training. Giant Schnauzers are people dogs and should not be left alone outside. A well-trained and socialized Giant Schnauzer can be the best dog you have ever had. Clownish and funny, they provide endless entertainment and love to their owners. A poorly trained and under-socialized Giant can be a nightmare, however. Owning a Giant Schnauzer is not for the uninformed dog owner. Volunteers rescue Giant Schnauzers because they can be turned around and become fabulous canine companions. A 19-month-old, special needs Giant Schnauzer, Lucy was turned into the Utah Humane Society because of seizures. She will need medication for the rest of her life to prevent mild epileptic episodes. Lucy does not know that she has special needs and lives life as a typical giant schnauzer. Energetic and intelligent, Lucy responds well to obedience training and will need to be on a regimen of on-going tasks to prevent boredom. Lucy enjoys her daily walks and everywhere she goes, people adore this beautiful girl. Lucy gets along well with adults and older children. She enjoys the company of other dogs but does not like female dogs competing with her for love and attention. This sweet girl deserves a patient, loving and forever home.
