Maura is a 10-week-old female Labrador Retriever up for adoption.

Maura

Maura, which means "dark" in Irish was a stray dog who was going to be put to sleep because she had a runny nose.  A runny nose is often a sign of Bordatella, or Kennel Cough, a contagious but very treatable condition.  Maura is currently in the isolation unit at the vet, until the antibiotics take hold and she is no longer contagious.

Maura will grow to be a beautiful, larger, black lab.  She will be about 80 pounds as an adult.  As a puppy, who is only 10 weeks old when we took her in, she will need lots of training.  Puppies are very cute, and very fun, but they are also a LOT of work.  Think seriously if you can take the time, and have the patience, to work through puppy issues: Housebreaking, chewing, and the need for basic training.  Puppies cannot be left alone for long periods of time.  Our trainers will gladly help free of charge if you are thinking about adopting Maura. She will be spayed, up to date on shots and micro chipped prior to adoption.

I you can’t commit long term to a dog, how about fostering?  We are looking for a foster home for Maura.  If you can help, please let us know.  Email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
