Feature Partner of the Week: Southwest Collie Resue
Southwest Collie Rescue (SWCR) is a non-profit, foster-home based Collie rescue organization that was established in 2002. They take in unwanted Collies regardless of age or medical condition. Once rehabilitated, Collies are adopted into loving, forever homes. SWCR primarily serves Arizona, New Mexico and southwest Texas. In 2011, SWCR placed 67 Collies. So far in 2012, there have been 13 adoptions. If you are interested in adopting a Collie, please visit www.nmcollie.com to complete an application. A home visit will then be arranged to match adopters with available Collies. SWCR can also be reached at 480-507-7996.

A beautiful female, blue merle, smooth-coated Collie, Skudka was an owner surrender. Her vibrant personality and jaunty gait come out as she stomps and plays games such as fetch and tag with people and other dogs. Skudka is fond of children and goes out of her way for a friendly pat and ear scratch. She loves attention and barks at cyclists until they notice her. At eleven years old, she thinks a soft pillow and afternoon naps in the sun are part of a perfect day. Skukda enjoys good health after a short bout with cancer. Remission is complete. Fully housebroken, she uses the doggie door with ease. Skudka is an affectionate senior looking for a forever home.
