As you may have read a few weeks ago, Old Town Scottsdale opened a sleek, new tea shop, TeaGschwendner. And tomorrow night, the tea retailer, with over 200 types of premium loose leaf tea, will offer a tea tasting class to educate and enlighten both new and longtime tea enthusiasts. The focus on the class: tea and chocolate pairings. The tasting event will include between three and five hot teas and two iced teas paired with exotic candy bars from Vosges Haut Chocolat (one of my absolute favorite chocolate companies on the planet). Vosges produces chocolates made from the finest ingredients, including indigenous spices, herbs, roots and flowers. Participants will learn about the tea and chocolate’s origins, characteristics of each and how to properly pair them. Attendees will also receive a gift bag containing samples of tea to enjoy at home and as well as a sweet deal for their next visit: a TeaGschwendner gift certificate for 15 percent off a future purchase.
TeaGschwendner ‘s tea and chocolate seminar will be from 6 to 7 p.m. and reservations are required. The class is $15, including the gift bag. 480.686.8503, http://www.teamerchants.com/Catalog/Default.aspx.
