Blackstone Country Club - Black Stone 1 350722

Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia, located within the 7,100-acre Vistancia master plan in Peoria, will host the local qualifying event for the World Golf Scramble with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., June 8 to earn an invitation to compete in the World Championships in Las Vegas Aug. 13-16.

The club and its operators greatly encourage all participation, especially amateur competitors.

“Blackstone Country Club is proud to be the only private club in Arizona to host a qualifier. It’s nice to see a national event like the World Golf Scramble for amateur golfers take the place of the very popular Oldsmobile Scramble, which was discontinued a few years ago.  The fact that there is a gross and net division allows a great variety of golfers the chance to compete in a big time event.  With over 120 qualifying sites available it should produce a great field for the televised finals from Las Vegas in August with an anticipated purse of over $100,000.” – Tom Wilcox Director of Golf Operations – Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia

The World Golf Scramble is a four-person competition where amateur golfers from around the world are competing in 130 local qualifying events in an attempt to earn an invitation to compete in the World Championships. The grand prize from the progressive purse is estimated at $100,000 in the World Finals. Blackstone Country Club is Arizona’s only private golf club participating in the World Golf Scramble qualifying event.

Cost for tournament play at the four-time Golf Digest award-winning private Blackstone Country Club is $150 per player or $600 for a foursome. The entry fee includes golf carts, green fees, range balls, $10 in golf shop credit and a year-long subscription to Golf Digest. Top finishers will receive gift cards to the Blackstone Country Club golf shop and an invitation to compete at the World Championships in Las Vegas. Teams advancing to the World Finals will be guaranteed a payout from the progressive purse.
