Ballet Tucson is offering a performance fit for anyone’s taste – literally. There is nothing sweeter going on in Tucson this weekend, March 12 through 14, than the company’s annual Dance & Dessert showcase at the University of Arizona’s Stevie Eller Dance Theatre. The best and most unique part is the post performance soiree where guests can tempt their palettes with decadent dessert from many of Tucson’s favorite restaurants. Dance & Dessert is truly a treat for the eyes and the mouth.

Ballet Tucson will continue their tradition in working with renowned choreographer Antony Tudor with the premiere of his Dark Elegies this weekend at Dance & Dessert. Also on the dance menu is a Charleston-era ballet with choreography by Mark Schneider known as Joplin, as well as an interesting contemporary piece created by Chieko Imada’s called Hibiki, which is set to kodo drums!

“Ballet Tucson dancers are known for their refined artistry, powerful athleticism, and uncommon versatility. Dance & Dessert serves as the perfect vehicle for the artists to showcase their dynamic range of dance styles.”
The exciting gourmet desserts will be served at a after-performance reception. Sweet tooths were delighted as last season’s event featured more than 60 local restaurants that participated in Ballet Tucson’s Dance & Dessert events.

Tickets are only $25 for general admission. Groups of 10 persons or more can purchase tickets for only $20 each. Tickets can be purchased by calling Ballet Tucson at 520.903.1445.
