Habitat for Humanity Tucson
A luxury many of us tend to take for granted is the warm roof over our heads each night. If you’re passionate about helping to put an end to homelessness, you may want to sign up to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. A variety of volunteer opportunities are always available such as construction site building, working in the HabiStore or tending to Habitat for Humanity office duties. The best part is, no experience is necessary—everyone can sign up. www.habitattucson.org.

Tucson Botanical Gardens
The Tucson Botanical Gardens are filled with gorgeous plantlife, but did you know the gardens use the help of many volunteers to do that work that they do? Offer up your time to the botanical gardens, where you’ll have the option of tending to numerous tasks. Some areas that always need help are the Butterfly Magic exhibit, the garden grounds, the resource center/library and the gift shop. Volunteers are also used to help with adult education, youth education, horticulture therapy, special events and office support. www.tucsonbotanical.org/involved/volunteer.

The Community Food Bank
The Community Food Bank is an incredibly impactful organization, providing enough food for over 48,000 meals each day, and giving out over 166,000 people with family food boxes each year. When volunteering with Tucson’s Community Food Bank, you can be sure that you are directly affecting many hungry people. The Community Food Bank is consistently in need of volunteers for certain duties such as packing food boxes, bagging groceries and stocking shelves, sorting food donations, preparing food for distribution, working on the organic garden or at the Farmers’ Market and much more. www.communityfoodbank.org.

Humane Society of Southern Arizona
If you’re an animal lover, then the Humane Society of Southern Arizona is a great place to spend your free time. In order to help all the stray cats and dogs in Tucson, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona relies heavily on their dedicated volunteers. Depending on your particular interests, volunteer job options include working in these different areas: administration, adoptions, animal care, education, special events, vaccination clinic and foster care. www.hssaz.org.
