When I was little, I used to pick out cereal boxes based on the free gift you got inside. I’m a Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies kind of girl but the super sweet kid ones (Lucky Charms, Captain Crunch, Chocolate Fruity Pebbles) always had the best free toys! Problem was, I never cared for sweet food so after dumping the cereal out, I wouldn’t end up eating it. Yah I know, a tad bit bratty but hey, I was a kid!
Now that I’m a bit older and cereal box and Happy Meal toys have lost their luster, I’ve discovered, free gifts for adults are WAY cooler.
Case in point, next week, from February 11-February 16th, Neiman Marcus will be holding their Trend Event. Some of spring’s hottest trends will be showcased like snakeskin accessories, anything pink, colorful cardigans and big bold jewelry. And the best part is, while you’re stocking up your spring wardrobe with the newest, hottest, latest, you’ll receive a free pair of Roxanne Assoulin coral and rose quartz earrings (pictured above) when you spend $500 or more. Yippee!!
Not sure what to spend that $500 on? I did a little preliminary shopping for you…
These Gucci “Lucy” Platforms are so amazing, I don’t even know what to do with myself. Sure they look like something I would break a bone or twist an ankle in, but I’m thinking it might be worth it. Gucci platforms, $1,475.
Here’s a girly, frilly shoe you’ll either love or hate but me, I would love to sport this Christian Louboutin “Petal” sandal. I love how feminine and delicate it is and envision it with a pretty, floaty white dress. Christian Louboutin “Petal” sandal, $995.
Neutral tones are a huge spring trend and I’m digging the way it’s paired in this Donna Karan outfit. The Donna Karan Collection Wrap Tunic goes for $1,295. Donna Karan Collection wide-leg Palazzo pants shown, $995. Donna Karan Collection mirrored belt, $895.
Adding something pink to your spring collection is a total must. This Alice & Olivia pleated ombre dress is fresh, young and sassy. Also perfect for those who are a little scared to don pink all-over. Alice $ Olivia dress, $298.
It’s impossible to avoid the jumper/jumpsuit trend. It’s there, it’s not going anywhere so if you’re ready to embrace it, here’s two approachable looks. The Rag & Bone look above is kind of sassy. The jumper goes for $450.
If you’re looking for something a little less attention-grabbing but still want to try out the trend, try this Alice & Olivia short jumper below. $297.
I don’t know why but I like jumpers. What?!
I’m excited for pink.
its so easy to spend $500 at NM – its spending less that is the challenge. the earrings are a great idea to get people in there.
Beautiful earrings. I would pay $500 just for them alone!
That petal shoe is stunning. So spring!
I’m too long-torsoed to wear a jumper.
omg, i need those Lucy shoessss
I wantttt that bottom short jumper!!!!
I really need those petal Louboutins….that man is such a shoe god! I would just wear them around the house cause they’re so pretty and different.
i like chocolate fruity pebbles, aka cocoa krispies
As I am certain I have posted several times, I love accessories and shoes sometimes fit the category. Or at least when I am justify some over indulging shopping. I love the Gucci shoes, and yes, you could break something wearing them, but beauty has never been pain free. But I definitely love those Donna Karen wide-leg Palazzo pants. Cool, flirty, perfect for spring.
