Rick Owens has proven to be a trailblazer when it comes to shaking up the traditional runway aesthetic. Instead of waif and straight-faced young models typically seen during fashion week, Owens sent “real women” down the runway modeling his fall 2014 ready to wear collection during Paris Fashion Week Thursday.
Women of all ages, races and sizes confidently showcased Owens’s strong and structured collection that featured a color palette of black, gray and deep red with lots of texture.
Owens made waves last season by completely replacing runway models altogether with a professional step-dancing team that he recruited across American universities.
