It’s not a fashion faux pas to say that Chanel is often the most anticipated show of every season. Beyond the gorgeous clothes and accessories, and hot up-and-coming models and celebs in attendance, the show’s declared theme is just as exciting.
In the past, Lagerfeld has transported us to a virtual supermarket, casino and garden party, so how else could he up the ante for Chanel’s spring 2016 Haute Couture collection?
Among an audience including the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Monica Bellucci and Cara Delevingne with her pup at Paris’s Grand Palais today, models first emerged from a two-story wooden structure set in a green geometric garden.
It was clear what the message was: Nature. The clothes built upon the eco theme with floral and animal motifs, and fabrics embroidered with wood shavings.
At the end of the show, the house opened to reveal models standing at different levels showcasing the collection enfin like a dollhouse.
