Karl Lagerfeld is expanding his creative dexterity into the hospitality business by opening what is destined to be the chicest hotel the world has ever seen.
Slated to open in 2017, the 270-room six-star hotel in Macau, China, will encompass the designer’s unique talent and approach to fashion and lifestyle.
Lagerfeld is cementing his name in hospitality by partnering with Amsterdam-based Brandmark Collective B.V. on a licensing agreement through an eponymous brand called KARL LAGERFELD Hotels & Resorts.
According to the press release, “KARL LAGERFELD Hospitality will translate Karl Lagerfeld’s vision and unique aesthetic into bespoke projects including hotels, residential properties, restaurants and private clubs. Each property will reflect Karl’s renowned, cutting-edge approach to style and signature touch that surpasses the boundaries of fashion alone.”
This seems fitting as Lagerfeld has dabbled with hotel and interior design in the past, with his most recent projects being the pool at the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo in Monaco (pictured above), suites at the Parisian Hotel de Crillon, and “ultra-luxury” condo lobbies in Miami and Toronto.
