Beginning this month, Rolex fans and collectors can purchase certified second-hand Rolex watches in the United States through the brand’s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program. The program will be offered at select U.S. retailers and guarantees the authenticity and proper functioning of previously worn timepieces.
Rolex first announced its CPO program in December, which launched in boutiques across Europe. Now, U.S. customers interested in buying second-hand pieces can find authentic pre-owned Rolex watches that are three years or older at select Tourneau | Bucherer locations, and later at Watches of Switzerland and additional retailers.
All second-hand watches that are resold through the Rolex Certified Pre-Owned program are marked with a seal that promises excellence, authenticity and proper functioning on the date of purchase, as well as an international two-year guarantee that confirms the watch is genuine and that it will properly function for at least two years after the date it was purchased.
Each purchase of a Certified Pre-Owned Rolex watch is boxed in an official Rolex CPO pouch and comes with a Certified Pre-Owned seal, the two-year guarantee card, a service booklet and a guarantee manual.
According to a Q+A by Hodinkee, prices for Certified Pre-Owned Rolex will vary and are up to the Official Rolex Jewelers at each boutique to determine, but are expected to be higher than the MSRP for a new watch.
While pre-owned Rolex timepieces are still just as much of an investment as a brand new watch, the CPO program is designed to provide consumers with additional confidence that their Rolex product is authentic, meets the Rolex criteria and is built to last.
