CEO and Founder of My Sister’s Closet Passes the Baton

After establishing and successfully running Arizona-based Eco-Chic Consignments for 33 years, Ann Siner has announced she will be stepping down as the company’s longtime CEO to pursue new adventures and charitable endeavors.

Siner plans to continue on as a board member and advisor to the company and its three brands: My Sister’s ClosetMy Sister’s Attic, and Well Suited.

With a background in retail and marketing, Siner thought resale stores didn’t have to be dark, dirty, and dingy. With her sister Jenny’s creative side and Ann’s business background, they dedicated themselves to turning those “three d’s” into the three “c’s” – cute, clean, and current. And that idea proved successful, as the brand grew to 10 locations over three decades.

“I couldn’t be more thankful to all who have shopped, supported, and cheered us on over the past three decades. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’ve turned this dream into a roaring success, and without you, we wouldn’t be one of the country’s largest, most loved resale stores,” Siner said. “I’m going to miss the highs, lows, and everything in between, especially the fashion trends that come and go, but most of all, I’ll miss you, the customers that have made it fun these last 33 years.”

Siner has secured new investors for the company, including Pine Mountain Ventures, LLC, and Cielo Ventures, LLC. The new investors, who have significant operating and investment experience in growth-oriented retail, will provide growth capital for expansion into new markets outside of Arizona.

Longtime luxury retail leader Janet Walzer will be succeeding Siner as CEO. Walzer has a background in luxury retail, having spent the last 22 years serving in various leadership roles at Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Waterworks, and more.

“In addition to expanding My Sister’s Closet, Well Suited, and My Sister’s Attic, we would also like to elevate, over time, the in-store shopping experience, fully utilizing new tools and technology to streamline and elevate the consignor and shopper’s experience,” Walzer said.

Despite the leadership change, philanthropy will continue to be at the heart of everything the company stands for, with a focus on supporting wildlife, animal rescues, arts and culture, and empowering women.

“Our philanthropic beliefs are aligned, and we look forward to continuing the great charitable work Ann has spearheaded for over 30 years. We will continue to support and help these nonprofits thrive in all the communities where you’ll find our stores,” Walzer said.  For more, visit mysisterscloset.com.
