On the ever-present hunt for my birthday dress, I stopped into Dillard’s at Scottsdale Fashion Square yesterday and boy was I surprised! I had heard awhile back that Dillard’s was trying to “freshen up” its image by buying new contemporary lines that are trendy and modern. I’d also heard that the Dillard’s at Scottsdale Fashion Square was definitely going to see some changes from this re-branding. But I hadn’t really looked until yesterday. And boy was I surprised.
For me, shopping at Dillard’s always has the same routine: walk into the BCBGMaxAzria section. Walk out. Unless I’m looking for shoes, then it’s shoes and then walk out. Yesterday I walked into the BCBGMaxAzria section. Then felt myself getting pulled toward all sorts of contemporary dresses. Then started getting pulled toward Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren and next thing I know I’m hoarding all these cute $300 dresses and can’t believe I’m standing in the middle of Dillard’s at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
The economy is, well, you know, so no I didn’t buy anything as I’m not allowing myself to splurge that much on a dress this year. No matter how much I’d like to. But if you are allowing yourself such a thing or just want a peek at the new, cute stuff Dillard’s is carrying, read on. The buyers over there are definitely starting to do something right. And it’s about time!
This Gianni Bini “Celeste” dress is cute, casual and just $128. Perfect for a summer’s night out.
I’m very into white wide-leg pants. It’s very very resort-chic. This Gianni Bini pant goes for $98. Top retails for $58.
ABS by Allen Schwartz is one line that tends to surprise me. (If you didn’t know, the line is notorious for copying Oscar dresses and making affordable knockoffs). This hot pink ruffle dress is a cute look I would totally wear to the office. The color is perky and trendy but the classic cut keeps it modest. $179.
This Sheri Bodell chain slip dress is a perfect example of something I never thought I’d find at Dillard’s. $389.
I know, I know, it’s hot out. But really, how cute is this Priorities “Shaya” jacket. So cute. $138.
Never underestimate the LBD. French Connection makes this conservative version that still looks modern. $178.
In the summer I pretty much live in casual dresses like this Miss Sixty pleated dress. It’s comfy and casual so it’s a true win-win. $199.
Need some cute tees? This Trash and Luxury “Bazaar” tee is totally fun. $39.
I definitely dig that Miss Sixty casual summer dress. It looks comfy.
such great stuff!!!! i seriously want ALL of these outfits.
Good to know they’re stepping it up! Love the Miss Sixty dress.
Way to go, Dillard’s. Love the jacket, too.
Dillards is the new Neiman Marcus and way more adfordable but yet carry the trendy lines we all want. Look at Dillards in Scottsdale Fashion Square and no need to pay more at the other stores in the mall. I found this out like a week ago and when the word gets out Dillards will be the place to shop, now they need a place inside for luch like Neiman!
