I remember in the archaic pre-cell phone days I just wouldn’t be caught without my watch. In fact I had a huge collection, mostly of oversized watch faces that one could read from across a crowded grocery store. Of course this was still in the day when we girls sported our stack and stack of rubberized Madonna bracelets so it wasn’t only a statement but a necessity that your time piece be visible at a glance.
At one point in the eighties I even went so far as to carry a giant handbag with a clock on the front. You can imagine what a fab conversation piece it was. The clock unfortunately took up a significant amount of room and wasn’t all that flexible so there was clearly no overstuffing…something that I could do well with these days since I fancy my purse more like a double decker filing cabinet rather than a carryall. For a while there once cell phones became the norm rather than the exception, it felt like whatever the location or occasion that watches all but disappeared from the landscape, but in the last few years watches have come back in a big way literally. Lately it seems that I can’t open any catalog or pass by a jewelry counter without boldfaced watch displays jumping out at me. And being one of those people that have a closet stocked with 99% black, I just love the latest trend of go- with- everything black or white watches.
Marc Jacobs cute little Miss Marc resin watches in black or white look great with Marc by Marc Jacobs skinny zipper jeans and cute little cropped leather jacket for that downtown girl chic.
Or how about the Fossil floral print with crystal trim that would pair perfectly with a great Ella Moss tunic, leggings and over the knee boots.
Or the Michael Kors white resin and crystal encrusted face that mixes well with a smart looking Burberry quilted jacket.
Perhaps the white leather and rhinestone logo watch from D&G that perfectly suits a shimmer wearing inner jet-setting diva.
Maybe even a bezel cut Swarovski crystal and resin numbers from Juicy Couture no doubt it will work with any track suit or swanky little ensemble from Bird by Juicy Couture.
I even fancy the sporty-chic Adidas gold or silver trimmed numbers sure to snaz up any casual outfit. especially when paired with the ever so adorable Chuck Taylor sparkle Oxford.
I have relied on my watches so much that if I leave home without it, I feel naked.
I love watches so much! That first one is adorable.
i actually really like the adidas watch….
Tic Toc! Love love love the D&G and Juicy watches, and those Marc Jacob zipper jeans, I think I just fell in love!!
