I hope everyone had a happy, happy Independence Day! I was so excited to get to the fireworks and festivities but something came over me yesterday pre- barbeque, I don’t know why, but as I was painting my face and rummaging through my makeup I decided spur of the moment… it was time to simplify this overstuffed, unorganized bag of loot that I reach for every morning. Time to take out all of the colors and formulas that I wasn’t going to wear anyway (at least until the summer is through). I don’t know if it’s easier or harder for a makeup artist to clean out their makeup stash? I get attached to each and every shadow, gloss and concealer, but I also know that I have a long line of products waiting in the wings to be tried, tested and paraded on my face accordingly. So down to business I went, sorting the odd colors that I haven’t worn in months, taking out anything that required more than a few seconds to apply or anything that wasn’t going to stay put on a sweltering day.

I always suggest a blotting tissue over a powder to sop up sweat and shininess on the face but recently I found this great little product by one of my favorite brands to help combat the shiny spots. And lastly it’s always hard to find a good mascara that won’t end up giving you the raccoon look under the eyes when it’s over 100 degrees.
