Rachel Zoe- “I Die” Fashion Spread

Don’t ask me why I do it, why I decide to torture myself by even looking at the life styles of the fashion rich and notoriously famous. Am I an emotional fashion cutter? I mean really does anyone else feel the pain of Rachel Zoe when she talks about a former assistant that betrayed her? The answer is a very chic No! But Rachel I get it, I feel your anxiety. I’ll call you and we’ll do lunch.

Perhaps it’s my obsession and simultaneous immersion in the fashion biz, and perhaps I feel a kinship to the daily drama that is Ms Zoe’s life. Of course her client fees are far beyond mine as is her mortgage and yes, she does dress celebrities on a daily basis, not just periodically like I do, but I understand the pains of trying to find the right garment at the last minute before a shoot or a red carpet appearance, or having that darn Fed Ex box of clothes not arrive when it was supposed to and I understand what it’s like to be caught in a fashion drama at every turn. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining in the least, I have a killer job that often entails pouring through stacks of magazines, look books and shopping… and really that’s pretty cool.

So where does all this envy come from, could it be the seasonal jet setting for the Paris shows, or the fabulous photo spread in Harpers Bazaar, or maybe it’s the vast collection of vintage that I wish was mine right down to the Halston’s and 70’s jewelry. Needless to say…I want to be Rachel Zoe when I grow up…there I have said it! Please don’t judge.

In case you missed it, Ms Zoe is front and center in a wonderful film noir-esque spread featuring a few of her favorite designers. Spoofed of course from her own catchy vernacular “I Die”. And even though I am confessing my ridiculous obsession here I have to say the anxiety of appearing in a fashion mag of this caliber would probably send me to the nut house, but perhaps when your weight it likely in the two-digit category like Rachel’s that feeling doesn’t factor in.

In any case I hope you enjoy the picks just as much as I did and to see the behind the scenes video harpersbazaar.com
