Aside from the big, big news that has me glued this morning as the Chilean miners are rescued one by one (Yay!), my morning inbox seems to be all about “Lauren” I woke to find a myriad of emails about Laurens across the board….Lauren Conrad, Lauren Moffet and Lauren by Ralph Lauren
First off, Who What Wear opened up the floor to guest editor Lauren Conrad. In case you didn’t know Ms Conrad has a very successful book series L.A. Candy, Sweet Little Lies and Sugar and Spice which comes out this month along with Lauren Conrad Style. And of course she has her LC Lauren Conrad collection exclusively at Kohl’s…plus Conrad is returning to MTV with a new reality show centered around her professional life. This time she’s not only starring but producing. So what did the trendsetter and reality maven pick for her favorites this month on WWW?
Apparently she is crushing on Stella McCartneys F/W line (and who isn’t?) Her own LC Lauren Conrad Moto Jacket which I have to say is a pretty affordable way to do motorcycle, also a nod to Charley 5.0 slim leggings, Christian Louboutin pumps and all things sweet like Dior parfum, Chanel bags and Paul & Joe’s gorgeous wool crepe dresses.
Another Lauren that’s getting some good lovin’ over at Refinery 29 today is Lauren Moffet. Her darling Spring 2011 collection is inspired by a dress the designer’s mom kept from her own early nuptial bliss. Of course as always Moffet plays up her vintage roots with pastels, pretty little prints and some country running- through- the- fields inspired looks. There are some mod babydoll dresses and a little embroidered skirt that would look oh so cute on the right gams. And of course cute as ever hats, scarves and accessories to pull it all together.
Then there’s the man, the icon and the style setter for over a few decades now -Ralph Lauren. The great news is that you can get an up close look at more than 15 of the season’s best looks from equestrian-inspired pieces to those amazing matte jersey dresses that Mr L does so brilliantly. And of course there are always the shoes and accessories to swoon over. What’s more you can shop it right off of the models with the help of Marie Claire’s fab fashion team with Nina Garcia at the helm… and who doesn’t want a little fashion advice from Nina? I know I do!
As with all RL pieces knit wear always plays a big part along with neutrals like creams, camel and browns. Those never -fail monochromatic ensembles that look rich and luxurious.
Check out the video at marieclaire.com with Nina giving her picks and you can even enter the sweepstakes to win an outfit worth $500.
