2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC300: Efficiency Meets Luxury

“Luxury” is usually the first word that comes to mind when Mercedes-Benz is mentioned. However, in recent years, they have ventured into the realm of everyday driving vehicles with much success. The addition of the 2023 GLC300 SUV to the arsenal is only going to continue their reputation as a master in the automotive world.

On the outside, the GLC300 could never be accused of being flashy. The soft lines and rounded edges cause it to blend in with all the other vehicles on the road – an urban camouflage of sorts. That doesn’t mean it’s boring, though…just a bit simple.

When it comes to the interior, the beautiful leather alternative MB-Tex screams class and style while offering unparalleled durability. It’s both visually stunning and comfortable on the back and posterior.

The 11.9” center touchscreen completes the look of the cabin, like the pocket square of a 3-piece suit. Everything about the media display is fairly user-friendly, but the lack of physical knobs for the HVAC system feels a bit clunky and unnecessary. It’s a minor issue but worth the mention.

Under the hood, this Benz continues to make its case as a fun everyday driver. The turbocharged and intercooled DOHC inline-4 with mild-hybrid puts out an impressive 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This allows the GLC300 to reach 0-60 in a quick 5.7 seconds, which is slightly faster than the vehicle it’s most often compared to, the BMW X3. When it comes to fuel efficiency, this SUV is easy on the environment and the wallet. With 25 city MPG and 32 hwy MPG, you’ll spend less time at the pump and more time on the road.

The GLC300 also offers a slew of safety features (too many to list, honestly), but, my favorites, automated emergency braking and blind spot monitoring come standard.

When looking for a small SUV, the options can seem endless, but a test drive in this Mercedes should help quickly shorten the list. It’s fun, speedy, reliable, fuel-efficient, and affordable. In fact, the base model comes in just slightly over $47k. Make your life easier, and go get the GLC300.
