The 2021 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Limited continues to deliver on many of the same points we’ve come to love and expect. Offering good acceleration from 219 combined system hp. Electronic on-demand all-wheel drive. Sharp styling and a polished interior. Along with a long list of driver-assistant technology at the ready. Pre-collision sense, pedestrian detection, radar cruise control, lane departure warning and lane-tracing assist all making a return appearance. Most of it even coming standard.
The problem is, that the price of the our Limited model RAV4 is beginning to feel a little high. Especially when you add upgrades like heated seats and steering wheel, Qi charging, a birds-eye view camera and foot-activated liftgate. There’s no denying that the build-quality and material selection of the RAV4 interior has become very good. It’s spacious, comfortable, and the addition of a long panoramic glass roof always guarantees a sun-drenched, atmospheric experience. However, the cost of the RAV4 Hybrid becomes harder to justify when you consider competition like the Honda CR-V or Ford Escape Hybrid. Or even just the more technologically superior RAV4 Prime, at a similar price.
In an automotive era, where full EV and aggressive Hybrid powertrains continue to spread across the market like wildfire. The 2021 RAV4 Hybrid brings a lot of time-tested expertise to the table. For about the same price, minus a few luxurious upgrades, we’d still recommend the more powerful and plug-in compatible Prime XSE model. If you can qualify for any government financial incentives, like an electric vehicle tax credit, the decision becomes even more obvious. Still, the RAV4 Hybrid Limited brings plenty of polish and tech, in sharp packaging, with a respectable 40 mpg combined.
