– Todd Rome, CEO of Moke America
Always passionate about luxury travel, Todd Rome began his career by founding the company Blue Star Jets, where he sought to make flying private more affordable. He worked at the company for over a decade before he moved on to his next luxury travel pursuit: creating Moke America.
Todd loved the classic little cruisers and spent a year traveling the globe and learning the industry. He loved that the cars were meant to parachute down from the sky during military combat and sought to make them bigger, stronger, sexier, and more sustainable.
Fast forward to 2017, where the cars have now been given the upgrade of the century.
Produced and assembled in Sarasota, Florida, the fully customizable Moke Americas come equipped with steel and fiberglass chassis, four-wheel drivetrain, hydraulic steering, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, a parking brake , and a backup camera.
It is versatile, carbon-free, and has a little more of “everything” — more legroom, expanded trunk space, a kickin’ sound system, and sex appeal.
Moke America has become synonymous with easy, breezy island chic, is a coveted accessory for outdoor living, and is adored by A-list celebs and socialites including Paul McCartney, David Letterman, Kris Jenner, Joe Jonas, and Katherine McPhee – to name a few.
The Moke vehicle started as a military invention for the British army. The name comes from “Mini,” the car with which the Moke shares many parts, and “Moke,” a dialect term for donkey.
It didn’t last long in the military, but the Moke was popular in Australia and Hawaii as a “beach buggy,” but in 2017, we brought the Moke back with the new electric and sleek design.
