The Jaguar brand has found a unique place in the auto market, including that of the Phoenix Valley area, over the course of its longevity. Existing somewhere in between the high minded and ornamental Bentley and the ferocious muscle bound Italian style super sports, Jaguar conjures up a wealth of images for the Phoenix Arizona performance and luxury car aficionado alike: Class with high performance, aesthetically beautiful, yet toned down and subtle enough so as to remain bold and unassuming. Making its first appearance at last August’s Pebble Beach Car Show, the new Jaguar XKR-175 Coupe is the perfect blend of bold strength, speed, and timeless class.
The exclusive and limited edition XKR-175 has been designed, honed, and manufactured in celebration of Jaguar’s 75th anniversary. Utterly unmistakable, it takes up where the old XK model left off at 155mph and increases it to a roaring 174mph.
The 2011 Jaguar XKR-175 is powered by a supercharged V8 with 510hp and 461 lb-ft of torque with top speeds raised to an artificially/electronically-limited 174mph. To ensure that the Jaguar XKR 175 remains stable at high speeds, the “Ultimate Black” exterior features an aerodynamic pack with a front splitter and a larger rear spoiler, as well as a body colored rear diffuser and side sill extensions. Dramatic red brake calipers and 20′ Kasuga wheels add the finishing touches to the exterior of this ultimate XK. The interior is finished in all black, including Warm Charcoal soft-grain leather, Jet headliner and Piano Black veneer. Accenting the interior is Cranberry stitching, which mirrors the flash that the red brake calipers provide to the exterior.
Produced exclusively for North America, available in one color combination, and initially limited to the first 175 orders, this car is acting as a branding, and in some ways a re-branding, tool. Jaguar is stating its dominance in engineering and design, flexing its innovation muscles for the automotive public.
If you have managed to place an order this year for the XKR-175 model, or if you just want to view, browse, and test drive another model from Jaguar’s fantastic 2010-2011 lineup, Phoenix Arizona residents can do so at Jaguar North Scottsdale, near Scottsdale Road and the 101 Freeway.
