If you’re looking for a festive cocktail that includes the best of the Irish spirits, visit any Culinary Dropout to gulp down the “Smashed Irishman,” a delicious mix of Jameson whiskey, Guinness reduction and mint. And if you fall in love with it like we know you will, the recipe is below for future drinking.
Ingredients:
- .75 oz. honey syrup
- .5 oz. Guinness reduction (see below)
- .75 oz. lemon juice
- 1.5 oz. Jameson whiskey
- 5 sprigs of mint (for garnish)
Directions: Add all ingredients into shaker with ice. Shake and double strain into buckets glass. Garnish with mint sprig.
Guinness reduction: Bring 24 oz of Guinness in a pan to a simmer over medium heat and let simmer until reduced by half, about 20 minutes.

No, this music festival is not filled with bag pipes and skirts. Head to Rawhide for the Pot of Gold Music Festival, an awesome two days of music from some of the biggest names in the industry today.
