Whether you’re curing a hangover, getting the party started early or continuing it on from the previous night, day drinking is practically a religion in the Valley. Mild temps and bright sunshine mean year-round patio weather, plus an excuse to hide behind your Ray-Bans while throwing a few shots back at 9 a.m. Lucky for you, the Valley has plenty of spots to kick back or rage on, with drink(s) in hand. Here’s 5 of our top spots for best places to day drink in Phoenix.
RnR
If you’re serious about your day drinking and looking for the ultimate Scottsdale day rage experience, RnR will thirst your quench ten times over. If you’ve never been, odds are you’ve heard it driving by. On the weekend, the two-story, indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar features a live DJ, but that’s not what draws the crowds. Its claim to fame (or possibly infamy) is without a doubt the bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys. Served every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the deal includes an entree and unlimited bloodys and mimosas for a cool $20 ($30 without an entree). And while many places boast bottomless bevs, RnR fills them up like water glasses — don’t worry about ordering another one and waiting, these mimosas will keep coming whether you like it or not. With its convenient location, 9 a.m. opening and multiple bars indoors and out, RnR is the best way to start your day with a bang and a lot of booze.
Hash Kitchen
For a dying devotion to Bloody Marys, Hash Kitchen features the largest Bloody Mary bar in Arizona. With more than 40 toppings available to stick on your build-your-own bloody, there’s no topping left behind. Top your drink with bites like fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks, spicy mango and other crazy additions plus the usual suspects like bacon and celery. While you could probably stack enough toppings to make your Bloody your breakfast, don’t pass up the savory big-portion dishes like their delicious hashes, benedicts or pancakes. Or just keep on drinking; for the indecisive, Hash Kitchen offers mimosa flights and for the young-at-heart, spiked cereal cocktails like the Fruity Pebbles (Fruity Pebbles dust, Loopy vodka, Rumchata, milk) and Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Cinnamon Toast Crunch dust, spiced rum, Rumchata, milk) are adult-approved and Instagram-loved. And of course, there’s a live DJ to complete the trendy morning party. Visit one of its two Scottsdale locations — Arcadia and Chandler locations coming soon!
Maya
If you’ve made it through breakfast into the afternoon hours (congrats!), keep it going at Maya Day + Nightclub, home to Vegas-style pool parties in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. The popular nightclub doubles as a dayclub when the sun is out and has a pool, indoor-outdoor atmosphere and popular guest DJs every weekend. Post up poolside at one of the tables or cabanas complete with bottle service, or splash your way through the day on the Maya-themed floaties while sipping on their signature blue fish bowls — rubber ducky included. Either way, make sure to don your best suit, this place is where to be seen.
O.H.S.O.
Let’s be real, anywhere with dogs is a place we want to be, especially when there is booze involved. Nano-brewery, distillery and restaurant O.H.S.O. has all that with its dog-friendly patio and more than 40 beers on tap, plus wine and cocktails to boot. What’s more, its weekend Beer Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. includes a beer or mimosa with the order of an entree. And not only does O.H.S.O. brew its own beer, it also whips up its own housemade rum, gins and vodkas, the latter in flavors like jalapeño, cucumber, rosemary and more. For a real easy, breezy kind of day visit the Arcadia location by hopping on your bike and cruising down the Indian School canal that it’s located on.
The Vig
For drinks, games and a killer patio space The Vig is where it’s at for springtime drinking. Visit on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for their brunch specials that include $4 Tito’s Bloody Mary Bar and $3 Mimosas plus ½ priced bottles of wine on Sundays — hello Rosé! Not only does it offer the option to drink cheap in a decidedly hip atmosphere, but you can do it while playing bocce ball, cornhole or other yard games, plus a full event calendar features plenty of live music to groove to. With five locations around the Valley, its newest McDowell Mountain location in North Scottsdale has views of the mountains plus a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired design. Viva Arizona.
