Classically trained in New York, Sima is known for her soulful voice and vocal gymnastics. She’s performed around the world and was even signed to a European record label. During her time abroad she met her now husband Chef Marcellino Verzino. The couple then moved back to the Big Apple where they produced award-winning restaurants before landing in Scottsdale and opening the beloved Marcellino Ristorante in Old Town. In 2015, she reentered the music scene and just this past August, she took the stage at Rome’s historic Teatro Marcellus, an ancient open-air theater.
Catch Sima live with her All Star Trio (Mark DeCozio, Felix Sainz, Lady Shelia Earley) on Sunday, March 8 at The Nash, performing 3 to 5 p.m. Tickets here

If I could describe my sound in three words, they’d be… Dynamic. Soulful. Rich
My favorite song I’ve released is… “To Yourself Be Free” (my first big hit as a recording artist)
My proudest achievement as an artist: Fulfilling my dream of becoming a recording artist with my own published songs.
If I could collaborate with any artist/group, it’d be… Group: Earth, Wind and Fire and Santana; Artist: Sting
If I were an instrument, it’d be… a Latin percussion instrument. The rhythms and sounds fascinate me and I love to play and imitate them vocally. I perform many Brazilian/Latin groove songs while playing hand-held percussion instruments. Music completely engulfs me in joy.
I’m inspired by… powerful women (especially in the music profession) who have engineered their talents well.
At my upcoming show in Phoenix, fans can expect… The best of me. It is a musical journey of my life in music. I’ve created a show filled with swing and Latin tempos, and smokey ballads that best exemplifies my voice and pays homage to the great women and composers of music who have influenced my life.
