Nothing beats a fun night out while benefiting a great cause. This Friday, Boondocks in Old Town Scottsdale will be the hub of plenty of entertainment and even more good feels. The Commit Campaign Fashion Show will set the stage for the official launch of The Commit Campaign, an amazing photo-based movement breaking the stigma associated with mental health and illness. Ultimately aiming to reduce the nation’s suicide rate, The Campaign aims to provide resources and education for survivors of suicide loss and those still struggling with mental health related issues. It also looks to address the social stigmas associated with suicide and to provide a place of community filled with hope and support.
Founded by Christina Tetreault and Kelsey Oney, both active members of The American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP), The Campaign uses the largest promotional platform there is – social media. The Campaign encourages participators to pledge to break the stigma by writing “commit” on the palm of their hand, taking a photo and posting it online.
Join Christina, Kelsey and other top Arizona influencers to celebrate the launch of this beautiful organization. The event begins at 7pm and includes a fashion show, live music by Michael Land, active mental health awareness/suicide prevention resources and lots to drink and eat. And of course there will be plenty of photo opportunities. Tickets are $25 and all proceeds go towards The Campaign. Purchase your tickets here and get ready to spend your Friday evening taking pictures of yourself – you’d be doing that anyway right?
