“Get to Know the Staff” is back this week with Arianna Theisen from Red Revolver Lounge in Old Town. Meet the people who make the famous nightlife scene of Scottsdale possible.
Nicknames: Ari, R, Hot Chocolate, Foxy Cleopatra, HBIC.
AFM: What’s your story?
Arianna: Like most of the industry, I was at school at ASU and needed a job. I started working at the amazingly awful Barney’s Boathouse (the original one across from campus) the week I turned 19. They handed me a shirt and threw me behind the bar, I didn’t even know the difference between a Long Island and a 7&7. Eventually I moved on to Zuma on Mill ave. and then to Old Town. I have been a guest bartender and worked a few places – The Roxy, American Junkie and El Hefe.
AFM: What makes you great at what you do?
Arianna: If you are working in a service industry, there is a level of outgoingness required, and the ability to tolerate complete ass clowns. Something that sets me apart is that I don’t use overt sexuality; I have wit, smarts, and phenomenal hair.
AFM: What do you bring to Revolver?
Arianna: I bring attitude to revolver.
AFM: Why do customers love you as their bartender?
Arianna: You want me as your bartender or server because I know what the hell I’m doing.
AFM: What do you love most about your job?
Arianna: I do an easy job, with people I like, and make rent in a few hours of work. What’s not to like.
AFM: What do you like least?
Arianna: Getting home at 5 a.m.
AFM: In this industry it’s a given that you get hit on. What’s the weirdest way anyone has ever tried to get your number or pick you up?
Arianna: Someone threw a sugar packet with their phone number on it, at my forehead.
AFM: What are you doing in your free time?
Arianna: School and working at Blow Dry Bar by Kimberly during the day. I enjoy traveling, cooking, and twerking.
AFM: What are some of your favorite local spots to hang out at?
Arianna: Anywhere in the Arcadia area, I live there and love it.
AFM: It’s your day off, you have to work tomorrow and money isn’t an object. What are you doing?
Arianna: Flying to Vegas for a 12 hour trip- I do that frequently.
