Peter Kasperski, former owner of the iconic Kazimierz World Wine Bar, closed up shop this past October after 15 years of pouring up vino. But now, restaurateur Tommy Plato has acquired the space and plans to re-open it January 24 at 4 p.m. Plato is the founder behind The Second Story Liquor Bar and Gelato Spot, and will re-open the bar under the name Kazimierz Wine and Whiskey Bar.
The bar will keep a similar ambiance but with a new vibe and new furniture, paint and decor. There will be exclusive VIP seating and a Whiskey Bottle Keep program where guests can store their high-end whiskey in lockers, plus other exclusive perks.
“Peter was a pioneer in Old Town and what he created here with Kazimierz in this space is exactly what Scottsdale needs,” said Tommy Plato. “I’m excited to keep this tradition alive but with an updated twist on a high-end establishment where you can go to have after-dinner drinks, light bites and great live music all night long in an upscale environment that caters to wine and cocktail enthusiasts.”

Among other new features will be the intro of a new chef and menu, a Whiskey Ambassador program and live music nightly. Food offerings will include Plato’s signature biscuits, charcuterie and fromage plates, bruschetta, oysters, flatbreads and more, utilizing local purveyors like Noble Bread and Chula Seafood. Look forward to seriously satisfying your sweet tooth with an elevated dessert menu featuring the seven deadly sins of desserts. And to fill your glass, there will eventually be more than 100 wines and 500 whiskeys available including Bourbon, Ryes, American and Japanese Whiskeys, Scotch and hand-picked vintages from around the world.

Legendary Jazz musician Dennis Rowland and Diana Lee will perform on opening night with other acts to follow.
Kazimierz Wine and Whiskey Bar is located at 7137 E Stetson Dr., Scottsdale, AZ 85251 and will be open daily from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and offer happy hour every day from 4 to 7 p.m. with the full menu available until close.
