Concert-goers will soon have a new venue to rock out at come August. Located in Downtown Phoenix at Fourth Ave. and Van Buren St., The Van Buren will be a 20,000-square-foot venue with a capacity for 1,800. Located inside a historic building that once housed Phoenix Motor Co., The Van Buren project is the latest from Charlie Levy who also owns nearby Crescent Ballroom and Valley Bar. The music at The Van Buren will be similar to the other two venues and will hold its first show on August 23 with Cold War Kids taking the stage.
“We are thrilled to announce these shows and to bring even more music and arts to downtown Phoenix,” says Charlie Levy. “It’s not an easy thing to do, to rehab an 87-year-old building, but it’s always worth it in the end to do it this way versus new construction,” Levy says. “That’s my experience from what we’ve done before. And I think people appreciate it more. I think you’re gonna walk in there and be like, oh, this is really really cool. So I’m excited.”
