There is what has to be destroyed and there is what simply has to be clarified and looked at. A benevolent and grave examination—what force! Let’s not bring flame where light is enough.—Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
11 years ago today, the lives of all Americans were rocked by the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001. Those of us who lived through that day will never forget. Each year, people around the country set aside time to remember those who lives were lost on that horrific day. We call it Patriot Day.
Local dance music artists DJ Rizkee, LuJan, DJ Phillip Thomas and Daniel Gauss have joined forces to give back to the community in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11th 2011 via one of the hottest nights in the valley “I Love House Music (2-4-1 Tuesdays)” at Zuma on Mill Ave in Tempe. Throughout the night, they will be taking donations which will be pooled together and given to the Tempe Fire Department. All party-goers are asked to wear red, white and blue to show their support.
Let good deeds unite us on this day.
See you on the dance floor.
“We shall never forget
We shall keep this day,
We shall keep the events and the tears
In our minds, our memory and our hearts
and take them with us as we carry on.”
I don’t understand. It says that *THEY* are giving back to the community. But then states that they are taking donations from people in attendance. Which is it? Are they giving up their pay for the night? Or just depending on their audience. Would like very much to get a report back on how much was raised.
