A new performing arts venue in Phoenix is ready to make its debut this May with two upbeat, family-friendly shows. After spending the past year shut down due to the pandemic, The Madison Center for the Arts is excited to bring the performing arts back to the valley and be the go-to spot for theatre-lovers everywhere.
See below for more information about the shows coming to The Madison in May.
Mariachi Sol de México® de Jose Hernandez – May 5 at 7 p.m.
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the Grammy-award nominated Mariachi Sol de México® de Jose Hernandez. Sol de Mexico embraces the romanticism of México’s land, people, and beauty and invites guests to enrich their affection for mariachis by experiencing their dynamic energy and rich cultural expression.
To celebrate the return of live performances and honor the Hispanic culture on such a significant day, Mariachi Sol de Mexico will perform at the legislative session on May 5 where the group will be honored with a proclamation from the Governor for the contributions to music and culture that they’ve invested into society.
Zuzu African Acrobats – May 7 and 8 at 7 p.m.
Performing for the first time in Arizona and originating from Tanzania, the Zuzu African Acrobats performances are a blend of circus style acrobatics and popular dance, set to high energy beats. Their performances incorporate fast pyramid building, limbo, contortion, bottle balancing, tumbling, chair stacks, comedy and more. A fun experience for the entire family and a great Mother’s Day gift idea, the Zuzu African Acrobats are one show that you won’t want to miss.
