Livewire may have just recently shut its doors, but the two-story space is already undergoing a makeover to transform into a new dual-concept. From Valley-based nightlife and restaurant Evening Entertainment Group (EEG), the $4 million project will turn the more than 16,000-sq.-ft. space into Mexican restaurant Casa Amigos and boutique bowling alley Sky Lanes.

Housed on the bottom floor, Casa Amigos will be a sexy take on a traditional Mexican restaurant and lounge complete with build-your-own guacamole menus and late night dining. The trendy menu will also offer items like crispy octopus or picadillo beef tacos, street corn, queso fundido, bacon-wrapped Sonoran hot dogs and Veracruz grilled swordfish. An extensive selection of handcrafted cocktails, cervezas, premium sipping tequila, mezcals and an array of margarita varieties will also be available.

Upstairs, Sky Lanes, will offer a retro state-of-the-art boutique bowling alley and lounge with high-energy pop music and throwback 80s and 90s jams. The space will also offer bottle service in addition to its striking bowling lanes.

You can count on the design of the space to be top notch as both concepts have been designed and decorated by Alison Victoria, star decorator of HGTV’s Kitchen Crashers. Victoria, who also led the design of Phoenix’s Casa Añejo, brought Santa-Barbara-inspired design to Casa Amigos with bright white walls, colorful custom artwork and traditional Mexican tile work. Foldaway window walls will lead to an expansive dining patio that help transform the space into an energetic club scene after dark.

“This location has always been special to Diane and me,” says Les Corieri, co-owner of Evening Entertainment Group. “From our original ultra-lounge and nightclub, Axis-Radius, to the former Livewire music hall, this space has always been a landmark in the Scottsdale nightlife scene. So when we looked to launch a new concept, we knew we had to go all out and create a one-of-a-kind experience that speaks to the way people like to nightlife today: casual yet stylish dining in an indoor-outdoor setting that takes advantage of Arizona’s wonderful weather. And then with Sky Lanes we know there is a market for fun, cocktail-friendly entertainment with a high-energy vibe.”

Both concepts are scheduled for a mid-December opening.
