The Stir Coffee Bar and Gin & Reel, a new coffee shop and speakeasy developed by comedian and entrepreneur Rick Bronson, has debuted at High Street. The vintage concept features an old-school vibe centered around coffee, cocktails and ice cream.
“The Stir and Gin & Reel is unlike anything in the North Phoenix/North Scottsdale area. I take great pride in creating concepts with environments that encourage the spirit of human connection as it once existed and that people long for today.”

The Stir Coffee Bar
Opening at 7 a.m., guests can grab both cold and hot boozy brews to kickstart their morning. Wake up with options like the Kick in the Pants made with cold brew coffee, Mr. Black’s Cold Brew Liqueur, Hamilton 151 Overproof Rum, Mexican Coke and milk. Don’t worry, non-alcoholic sips are available too. The shop also has a variety of creative cocktails like the Affogato Martini and Irish Coffee Milkshake.
Guests can also grab bites to eat like avocado toast, blueberry lemon muffin, bagels and pastries. And in the afternoon, dig into classic eats like grilled cheese and reuben and club sandwiches.
Gin & Reel
At night, the Gin & Reel speakeasy comes alive, welcoming guests through a hidden entrance at the back of The Stir. The space features an Old Hollywood vibe with vintage projectors and old school images of red carpet affairs, director’s chairs instead of barstools and throwback black-and-white films playing.
The menu features prohibition-era sips with choices like a Manhattan, Sazerac and Gimlet, along with other concoctions including a Vesper with Volstead Vodka, Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin and Lillet Blanc; the Clover Club featuring Tanqueray No. 10, raspberry syrup, fresh lemon juice, cream and egg white; and more.
Gin & Reel is open on weekdays from 3 to 10 p.m. and on weekends from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.
