Summer is here and so are all the events that come with it: weddings, BBQs, concerts, sporting events and so on. With Arizona’s hot summer weather, it can be difficult to decide how to style your hair when attending these events. Whether you’re looking for beachy waves or a fun updo, you want your hair to be fitting for the occasion. High glam pony. A ponytail can easily go flat on a summer day. Instead, add volume in the front of the pony and in the back. This hairstyle is perfect for any summer wedding or attending a Diamondbacks baseball game.

How to achieve this look: Lightly comb all of your hair back away from your face. Grab the front section of your hair and gently tease it at the root to create volume. After teasing hair, pull all hair back into a ponytail at your desired height. Fasten ponytail with a hair tie. Apply a light hairspray for flexibility and hold to the front and back. Add texture spray to your ponytail for a little extra volume.

 

Top knot with an accent. The top knot is an easy style that can be quickly achieved. Throw in a scrunchie, a hair scarf, or a chain for added flair. A top knot can keep hair off of your neck and is perfect to keep you rocking at the next summer concert you attend.

How to achieve this look: Start by spraying a small amount of texturizing spray, such as Drybar’s The Kicker Finishing Spray Wax to your hair to give it some grit. Brush hair to evenly distribute texturizing spray. Pull your hair back into a high ponytail and fasten with a hair tie. Take the length of your hair and wrap it around the base of your ponytail. Beachy, natural waves. Generally the hottest summer hairstyle year after year, natural-looking beachy waves are the ultimate effortless hairstyle for any summer outing.

How to achieve this look: Start by sectioning your hair. Separate two-thirds of your hair and clip it up and out of the way on top of your head, leaving one third down. Spray hair with heat protectant spray and begin curling. Using a one-in. barrel curling iron, take hair into one- or two-in. sections and wrap around the barrel of the curling iron leaving the ends out. After leaving hair on the curling iron for a few seconds, release hair and slightly pull on the end to prevent a tight curl. Repeat this through each section of hair.
