Sick of wearing the same few winter accessories that just feel bleh? Yeah, they’re warm and all, but they just don’t make a statement or feel exciting. Well, winter doesn’t have to mean boring—or expensive! With just one or two investment staples, or perhaps a couple of cheaper accessories, you’ll begin to feel the wonders of winter fashion come to life.

Oversized style

This is something you can play around with, without actually having to buy anything. For example, your favorite oversized sweater or hoodie will look thoughtfully arranged with some moto jeans, boots and a beanie. The oversized look can often look slouchy, so be mindful when deciding what you’re pairing together. I personally love the look of an oversized poncho like this one (pictured), on top of a graphic tee and some faux leather leggings. It’s like a blanket, but make it fashion. Avoid wearing flowy pants with a dramatically large top; you might begin to look like you’re swimming in your clothing.

Puffer trend

Ah, the classic puffer coat. We all have one, but some of them certainly need a fashionable upgrade. Luckily, the puffer trend has been popular on the runways this holiday season, providing us consumers with many new ways to sport the look. Try adding this puffer scarf (pictured) to your winter wardrobe. Not only practical, but also stylish, puffer fabric is truly making a comeback. Wanting even more of this warm accessory addition? Fluff and faux fur

There is no such thing as too much fluff, and what better time to debut your favorite furry finds than winter time? Perhaps you enjoy a subtle pop of feather like the trimming on this perfect New Year’s Eve top. Or maybe it doesn’t really feel like winter until you break out your beloved sherpa. Whatever fuzzy companion the cold may require, there are plenty of stylish selections from basic (pictured) to bold
