From elegant plaids to comfy fall fur, the traditional 70’s and 80’s fall fashion trends get re-invented every year in a new, modern accent.

“Fall fashion is the most exciting time every year; there’s something magical to it,” says Scottsdale Fashion Square senior manager Emily Park.

According to Park, one of the most continuing trends in fashion is the mixture of brands, from low to high.

Park says a woman may choose to wear an H&M dress, or a Zara shirt, combined with a Louis Vuitton bag; or a GAP jumpsuit matched with Bulgari sunglasses, keeping the look creative and unique to herself.

“It makes fashion attainable for everyone,” Park says. “I can have the luxury brand looks from some of the more mainstream brands  together with a statement piece like a handbag from a luxury brand.”

With the weather cooling down, fall fur never loses its appeal. Colorful winter florals are also playing a big role, Park says, as well as sporty jumpsuits and white shoes, for a casual and relaxed look. Adding to a rock-star beauty look are simple braids and red eye-shadow.

When it comes to accessories, combat boots and over-the-knee boots are a big pick, as well as rounded handbags, and fish nets. Chokers from the 70’s and statement earrings also appear in fall fashion trends.

“I love that decade and what it inspired,” Park says. “I’m always blown away by how designers pick trends and re-invent them every year. They come up with amazing new ideas, whether it’s in print, color selection, style.”

All the looks can be found at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
