A Look at the Most Stylish Arizona Remodeling Trends in 2021

By Matt Lee

These are changing times that call for adaptations that are functional yet as stylish as possible. While you want your home remodeling to be what works for your current lifestyle, you don’t want to pick a design trend that is losing relevance (or has already lost it)! So without further ado, it’s time to look at the most stylish trends that will be hot among Arizonans in 2021.

1. The Multifunctional Space

Now that a very high number of people are working from home, the need to create home offices has risen significantly. Simply because you have a small space to convert into a home office doesn’t mean it can’t be stylishly designed. The multifunctional space only requires creativity and imagination to ensure that every square foot is effectively yet elegantly designed. Multipurpose furniture such as a fold-up table can serve as an office desk and an outdoor table – at the same time, it can be folded up and tucked away once it has finished serving its purpose.

2. Dual-Tone Kitchens

It looks like the all-white kitchen trend is gradually waning in its appeal, and kitchens are beginning to clamor for a mix of colors. Instead of a single colored cooking area, some parts could maintain a particular color while the other parts will have another color to create a bright looking kitchen. Or at least a mixture of neutrals to give off that cool contrasting feel. For example, a mix of white vein quartz countertops, white walls, and navy blue cabinets could add some color to an otherwise all-white kitchen.

3. Minimalism

The “less-is-more” trend might not be going away anytime soon as it still looks appealing for contemporary living. Although minimalism will strongly possess the simplicity and clutter-free design it is known for – the trend might be having some touches of patterns and textures in a few more places. So, 2021 might very well be the year of minimalism reimagined.

4. Earthy Tones

The colors of nature will likely be dominating home redesigns in 2021 as there will be a need to have some warmth in the house. Also, earth tones come with that outdoor feel, so it’s a double advantage that’s coming with this trend. Expect to see shades of brown, burnt orange, olive green, and yellow in many home remodeling projects.

5. High Contrast Decor

Some individuals might want to take bold steps in redesigning their homes to create contrasting combinations of colors, styles, shapes, patterns, and materials. When done correctly, this decoration trend can make spaces look aesthetically pleasing. Contrasting is simply the art of taking things that are seemingly dissimilar or opposite in putting them together to create visual excitement.

6. Biophilic Decor

Another redesign trend that might be on the rise in 2021 is biophilic decor. Those who want increased connectivity to nature will find this design trend highly appealing as it uses natural elements such as flowers, plants, and wood. Biophilic design hinges on the research that nature contributes to health, happiness, and productivity. You can incorporate this design trend by adding natural light and plants to your home’s interior.

7. Rise of the Metals

Metal has long been a favorite for outside the home, but metal is making its way inside in 2021. More and more homes will most likely have metallic interiors as they are not only cost-effective, but they also provide an industrial, modern feel that homeowners love. Metals can include steel, copper, silver, gold, tin, aluminum, and more, so there’s sure to be a metal that fits everyone’s aesthetic vibes.

8. Non-porous surfaces

The new germ-conscious lifestyle everyone is now living might very well see the rise of using non-porous surfaces in homes. Germs find it difficult to stick to such surfaces, and they can be easily cleaned off such materials. With this in mind, it might signal an increase in the popularity of stainless steel, laminate, polished concrete, and other non-porous materials that can be used on surfaces such as kitchen countertops. Even if these materials might not find their way to every room in the house, places that attract a lot of foot traffic (like the kitchen) will definitely use them.

9. Earthy and Contrasting Exteriors

Contrasting tones aren’t just for the inside of the home. They’re also really popular for exterior design, too. Expect to see things like stark white homes with a sharply contrasting charcoal-colored exterior door trim. When it comes to color,  expect to see more earthy tones outside, too. People are moving towards greens and greys with pops of vibrant natural reds and violets in 2021.

Design Trends That Will Last

Remodeling your home can be tricky for several reasons, and you certainly don’t want to choose a remodeling design that will become outdated or lose its functionality the following year. The previously listed remodeling trends are expected to continue to gain popularity over the next few years. Now is the perfect time to remodel your Arizona home using these trends. However, while in the middle of a home remodeling project you should always ask yourself how much joy or inspiration will this design bring you. After all, it’s your home, and you will spend the most time there.
