Nastassja Olson has always had an eye for design, whether she was found admiring vintage home architecture on vacations or rearranging furniture for a fresh look. So it was no surprise when she decided to leave the corporate world during the pandemic to launch her home staging business, Cozy Corners.
Home staging plays a critical role in the real estate market in Arizona. It helps potential buyers visualize themselves in the space, often leading to quicker sales and higher offers. “It’s incredibly rewarding to know that your work helps homes sell faster and for a better price,” says Olson. “We can make a positive impact on someone’s selling experience.”
Olson’s interest in home staging encouraged her to earn a home staging certification and enroll in color master classes, where she learned how colors interact and their importance in the home staging process. After its launch, Cozy Corners quickly became a recognized name in Arizona’s luxury real estate market, particularly for mid- to high-level homes priced between $1 million and $3 million. Olson and her team have also worked on properties ranging from $200,000 condos to $4 million luxury homes.
Olson and her team have transformed both vacant and owner-occupied homes across Arizona. Each project brings unique challenges, but Olson’s expertise ensures that each space is staged optimally to attract buyers. Here’s a look at three of the company’s recent projects in Arizona.
CHANDLER
This Chandler home felt sparse and uninviting before Cozy Corners stepped in. With the owners staying in the house during the selling process, Olson’s team helped guide them through the staging. They recommended new paint colors for the teal walls, updated lighting fixtures, refreshed drapes and removed some personal items. The owners were advised to place the worn-in sofa in the casita throughout the selling process. After rearranging furniture and adding signature staging pieces, the home sold to the first viewer in just one day.
MESA
Before its owners consulted Cozy Corners, this Mesa home lingered on the market for over 50 days with zero movement. The unfurnished property didn’t look appealing in photos, leading to low buyer engagement. The goal of the staging was to enhance the home’s charm and downplay less favorable elements, including the red tile flooring and patterned backsplash. With its bright and clean aesthetic, the refreshed space quickly drew high interest from buyers.
PHOENIX
In Phoenix, a vacant master bedroom was a sticking point. Potential buyers struggled to envision the best way to utilize the space due to the odd placement of the windows on the focal wall. Cozy Corners strategically placed the bed against the focal wall with two nightstands. This refreshed look provided potential buyers with a practical and appealing layout for the master bedroom. This change was crucial as buyers often make decisions right after viewing the master bedroom of the home.
