Are you down-to-earth or a deep thinker? A fiery go-getter or an airy dreamer? Your zodiac sign is a big part of your personality and each one gravitates to different home features and designs.

Whether you’re a prepping for a big move or daydreaming about designing your future home, one thing to consider is your astrological personality for which elements you need in your home. Erik Tinker, founder of Tinker Development, describes the ideal home design for each zodiac sign below.

Leo

Leos, the “royalty of the zodiac,” are ruled by the Sun and known for their generous nature and love of the spotlight. This sign prefers a home with ample entertaining space, a large dining room and several guest bedrooms. Their decor is exotic with bold colors, gold accents and plenty of natural light. As a fire sign, they crave a warm sitting area with a fireplace and animal-print furnishings.

Virgo

Virgos are perfectionists, extremely detailed oriented, responsible and conscientious. They are a feminine sign whose primary element is earth. This person is all about practicality and utility. Virgos favor a neutral kitchen with subtle pops of celadon green or dove gray with fresh flowers or cook books on display. They enjoy planning and organizing their home to be tidy and neat.

Libra

Libra is ruled by Venus, known as the planet of beauty. This sign loves a stylish and elegant home filled with beautiful objects.  A Libra’s space will often reflect a strong sense of balance. They focus on creating a room that is pleasing to the eye. For their master closet and bath, Libras should incorporate pastel colors to embody a balanced and tranquil room.

Scorpio

This sign is symbolized by a scorpion and influenced by Pluto. There are two types of Scorpios – those who prefer white-on-white color scheme with a variety of textures, or those who revel in dark intense colors like crimson and black. Scorpios are driven by passion but coated in mystery. As a water sign, they find a happy medium with a soothing bedroom color and high-quality, bold furniture for decoration.

Sagittarius

This sign is influenced by Jupiter, and a Sagittarius’s home often has a colorful scheme. Sagittarii were born with the travel bug and love the smell of the great outdoors. This zodiac should plant a large garden oasis with bright flowers, or bring their spirit indoors with lavender-scented candles and a bowl of fresh fruit. For this globetrotting sign, decorate with exotic collectibles, vintage suitcases and rustic artifacts.

Capricorn

Capricorns are symbolized by the goat and influenced by beautiful Saturn. This sign works hard and is drawn to a home that reflects the benefits of their hard work. Capricorns tend to love traditional décor that include grandfather clocks, leather sofas, wood cabinetry and all-American brands. The colors they should surround themselves with are hunter green, navy, and brown while incorporating fresh flowers or bright pieces of art to lighten the room. A great work area complete with full bookcases and a sturdy desk is vital for this sign.

Aquarius

Aquarians are known to be dreamers who are stubborn and focused on effecting change. As ruler of all things modern and futuristic, this water sign’s home decor should be bold with eccentric graphic pieces and full of glass and steal materials. Aquarii are original freethinkers drawn to open concepts with industrial design to encourage creativity.

Pisces

Pisces are artsy people pleasers who thrive on solitude. As a water sign, Pisces are sensitive, enigmatic souls whose homes are a true sanctuary. The perfect room for this sign is a quiet oasis for meditation with serene ocean colors of blues and greens and a Zen fountain.

Aries

Stubborn and restless, Aries is ruled by Mars. This is a masculine sign whose primary element is fire. Aries’ lives are an open book and their homes reflect this. This sign should avoid muted colors and seek vibrant shades of crimson red or hot pink to bolster their spirits and stay motivated.

Taurus

Tauruses enjoy spending money on the finer things in life. This sign is symbolized by a bull with a primary element of earth. Tauruses are drawn to comfortable, relaxing surroundings with high standards and exquisite style. Wine cellars, Persian rugs and authentic paintings create a happy living space with only the best of everything within.

Gemini

Symbolized by twins and influenced by the hot and fast Mercury. Gemini is a masculine sign whose primary element is air. Geminis can’t stand sitting still thus it is essential to have a rocking chair or hammock in the home. This air sign craves diversity with electric prints, colors, accents and endless natural light.

Cancer

Cancers are ruled by the moon and known to be the sweetest, friendliest people. These crabs tend to be home bodies and burrow into their shell. They like to have their house feel cozy and inviting to friends and family. This water sign should use colors like silver, pale blues and shimmery whites. As a sensitive water sign, Cancers should incorporate sentimental objects and family photos in the home.
