As a child, I always shied away from attention, regardless of what it was. Growing up, I started to become very comfortable behind a camera and decided to pursue modeling. I am still somewhat shy as an adult, but when I am in front of a camera or on a runway, I am confident, liberated. Is it your dream job to be a model? Yes. I can’t see myself doing anything else! What do you like to do in your free time? All types of exercise and workouts. You could call me an endorphin junkie. Dancing, taking my five fur babies to the park and hanging out with my loved ones. What inspired you to enter Face of Foothills? My inspiration initially came from my own desire to model. I channeled all of my focus and energy on the contest because I knew that it would be the next big opportunity for me. How does it feel to win? The feeling for me is surreal, like walking on a cloud. My parents have always told me that ‘effort equals reward,’ and they have never been more right. I want to take the Face of Foothills to the next level and can’t wait to start! Do you have any advice or tips for others who want to be a model? Network. Get out and meet people in the industry and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Be patient, honor your commitments and always be punctual. How would you describe your style? I would describe my style as versatile. I typically don’t gravitate toward just one look and that is why I am in love with this career! BOOV 3.indd 123BOOV 3.indd 1234/14/20 12:27 PM4/14/20 12:27 PM124 @azfoothills #azfoothills AZFOOTHILLS.COM’S 2020 FACE OF FOOTHILLS Why did you decide to pursue modeling? I decided to pursue modeling because of my height and body structure. I had so many people telling me I would be great at modeling, so I thought I’ll try it! Is it your dream job to be a model? I would love to be a full-time model but the odds of that happening are pretty slim. I plan on staying in the fashion industry; if not modeling, maybe marketing or advertising. What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time you can find me watching TV with my boyfriend or on the golf course. What inspired you to enter Face of Foothills? I was at a casting for a runway show and saw the tent and flyers and decided to go for it. How does it feel to win? I never thought in a million [years] I would win! When my name was called, I froze for a second because I wasn’t sure if my name was actually called or if I just heard that in my head! It was surreal. I’m so honored to represent AZ Foothills. Do you have any advice or tips for others who want to be a model? Be confident, respectful and kind. It will truly go a long way. How would you describe your style? Chic fashion with a street-style twist. I tend to dress according to my mood and the season. I really loved being on camera and loved watching other people be on camera as well. I also love to create imagery and be artistic. Is it your dream job to be a model? I love being a model, and I already am everything I could want to ever be. But sometimes I think about becoming a veterinarian because I love animals. What is your favorite school subject? History. I love to learn about everything from our past; and I also enjoy reflecting on what life was like in the past compared to how everything is now. What do you like to do in your free time? I like to swim when it’s not really cold outside, and I like to ice skate when it is cold outside. I went ice skating for my birthday once and fell in love with it. What inspired you to enter Face of Foothills? I thought it would be great exposure for me. I was at the Rock the Quarter fashion show for Cheeky Chic and decided to sign up at the booth. How does it feel to win? So amazing. Right when I heard my name called as the winner, my entire body just rushed with joy, and I bursted into tears. I was so happy. I was really nervous about everything at first, but my mom taught me to replace the word ‘nervous’ with ‘excited’ and that really helped me. Do you have any advice or tips for others who want to be a model? Don’t only do jobs or things that pay. You have to do anything you can get your hands on to get yourself started. It will help build your exposure and possibly get you an agent. How would you describe your style? I would describe my style as hippy-ish, hip-hop, or as my generation calls it, a ‘soft girl.’ BOOV 3.indd 125BOOV 3.indd 1254/14/20 12:27 PM4/14/20 12:27 PMNext >
