Wake up, stretch and head out for a hike with a friend to Piestewa Peak Quartz Ridge Trail.It’s an easy and satisfying hike. 6 A.M. Home in time to make sure my middle son is awake and moving in the right direction. I love cooking for my family, so I’m making breakfast burritos (my hubby’s favorite). If I wasn’t cooking, breakfast at The Windsor or Snooze is always fabulous. Usually the smell of food gets my youngest son out of bed and on his way. NPR is defi nitely on because I am a news junkie. Breakfast gives my family a great place to check in on the day’s schedule and catch up before we all scatter. 7 A.M. I’ll read more in depth whatever news story on NPR piqued my interest and check email, texts and social media. I review my to-do list and add/delete as needed. 8 A.M. Work at the Phoenix Boys Choir makes me happy. An ideal day would include a few visits with donors and key stakeholders to share the good news. It would include speaking with prospective parents and boys about the life- changing benefi ts the choir offers. I am passionate about my work and am lucky to work with talented and dedicated folks. Sharing the important work we do with others is an honor. 5 P.M. After a day at work, dinner out with my family is truly dreamy.When we stay close to our North Central Phoenix ‘hood, we love Spinato’s or The Vig Uptown, but when we want kebab and grandpa can’t cook, we head to The Persian Room. Eating dinner together is critical and gives my family a chance to share, connect and appreciate each other. 6 P.M. Listening to the Phoenix Boys Choir sing, in this case during rehearsal, always feeds the soul. Their voices are beautiful and uplifting and leave me full of joy. 8 P.M. Catching up with a friend or two over the phone or a drink keeps me grounded. Huss Brewery Taproom at Uptown Plaza is nearby and always welcoming. Before I head to bed, I review projects so the next day goes smoothly. I am a planner and love to travel and entertain. Life is busy; unless you plan, nothing happens. I have planned the craziest vacations for my family, and they will never forget them! 9 P.M. I strive to be a lifelong learner; reading expands me. I always have a variety of books next to my bed, so I’m reading something.I also spend some time refl ecting on the day; ending the day with gratitude is key.
